The foundation of the School of Physical Education and Sports within Marmara University, which has a long history, is; Istanbul Atatürk Higher Teacher Training School, which was founded in 1967 under the Ministry of National Education and provides sports higher education, is based on two institutions, namely the Anadoluhisarı Youth and Sports Academy, which was established in 1975 under the Ministry of Youth and Sports. These two institutions, which form the basis of our school, were included in the Atatürk Education Faculty at Marmara University Göztepe campus as a Physical Education and Sports Department with the Decree Law No. 41 in 1982 and the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions numbered 2809. This section in the Anadoluhisarı Campus is published in the Official Gazette dated 03.07.1992.  

     MU BESYO has always been the leading educational institution in our country with many valuable graduates, trained students, and coaching and training services in national teams. BESYO has trained more than 8000 students, including world and olympic champions, to the Turkish sports public.

     Our college; The Faculty of Sport Sciences was established by closing with the Decision on the Establishment, Closing and Changing of Names of Faculties, Institutes and Colleges Depending on Some Higher Education Institutions published in the Official Gazette dated 08/04/2016 and numbered 29678.
